Do expectations have an END?

The human species have several hopes, desires, and expectations. This pattern follows with every task we do, the product we buy, or even with the relationships we hold. Humans always reach a certain limit and hope you exceed that limit. We always try to break the boundaries and reach for more. We are never satisfied with what we already have or own, we always wish to have better.
I wouldn't say that is a bad attribute, to wish to be better or reach higher limits but what is questionable is in what areas do we have this pattern?
For example, we have a good standard working phone which meets your requirements and is not very old but somewhere in the back of your mind you always wish that your particular phone had a few other features. Better camera or any other such feature, no matter how many developments are made towards that phone u always wish for something more.
Another instance is that we always expect or desire for something more from our partners. I m sure quite a few of you are with someone or have been with someone and even though you might say that you don't expect anything, you secretly do. It might be a smile hello to a big gesture you always wish for more. Even with our parents, we are never satisfied, no matter how much they do for us. More gifts, More time, More understanding, and the list goes on.
But what I personally find ironic is that we expect so much and despite being given all that we are never satisfied but do we give this much back?
Do we ever try to give back half of what we expect? I believe no because when the tables turn towards us we often feel offended and hurt. We must realize that this huge vault of expectations will never fill, so try and appreciate what someone or something has to offer you.
Try and give back the same or at least a little bit of what others do for you, not for yourself but for them. For them to keep acknowledge and happy.
